Things Fall in Spring!

by Ann Privateer

I drive to work
dodge fallen shoes
littering the slow lane.
Stylish, spiked heels
three toned wedgies
broken, flattened
run over; a fuzzy blue
slipper recalls Cinderella’s
glass mule. I wonder, if it fell
from the coach would
Prince Charming have found her?
Tomorrow, I’ll keep an eye peeled
for socks.
