Unique Monarch Butterflies

by Bella Morin, age 12

Monarch Butterflies are unique
with bright, colorful scales
covering their wings
The wings are vivid orange
with black veining that tells
predators, “Poison!”
Black around the edges
the wings have white spots
added by God for decoration

These butterflies need milkweed
to survive so they can pollinate
many types of flowers as they
feed on the blossoms’ nectar
This helps plants create new seeds

Monarch Butterflies are gorgeous
creations and vital to ecosystems
A symbol of hope and transformation
these pollinators are special because
they can travel thousands of miles
like birds to breed
