‘Ladybug Acrostic’ and ‘Hummingbird’ — Two Poems by Elijah Hong (age 12)

Ladybug Acrostic

by Elijah Hong, age 12

Lovely is the ladybug,
Always helpful, unlike a slug.
Drawing up aphids with greed,
Yummy is its job, indeed.
By the end of each day,
Understandably, all farmers say,
Great was the ladybug’s help today!

Hummingbird

by Elijah Hong, age 12

A hummingbird is not only one who pollinates,
But also one who sings songs it creates.
This talented composer causes all to stand in praise
Of the God who created everything in seven days.
