A Puppy

by Elizabeth Wrobel

A wagging tail, a playful stance,
A furry friend, an empty lap.
A pink tongue, a tiny lick,
A wet nose, a slobbery kiss.
A walk in the park, a walk down the street,
Another adorable puppy, a new friend to meet.
A game, a stick,
Throw it, fetch it.
A bowl of water, a special treat,
Curling up for the night at my feet.
