Wildflowers in Beautiful Landscapes

by Bella Morin (age 13)

Beautiful poppies and wildflowers
full of color
grow in desert landscapes
on a chilly morning.
Vivid orange flowers blossom
in the cooler spring months
after the rains.

The tall prickly Joshua trees
make a faded shadow,
as I search for western bluebirds.
The long, silky grass brushes
up against me, as I listen
to the birds chirp.
I stop to enjoy a sandwich.
