Our Pet Max

by Jason Moys (age 13)

We welcomed a puppy
Who’s eight years old.
Max is cute and happy,
Smart, friendly, and bold.

Max wakes up at sunrise
Not making a peep.
Respect in his black eyes,
He’s letting us sleep.

Just plain human food
Our pet likes to eat.
It tastes so good:
Cheese, carrots, and meat.

We take Max for walks
That he likes very much.
He runs, saunters, hops,
Chases squirrels and such.

Our Max is a treasure,
The sweet gift from God.
The words cannot measure
How we feel blessed and awed!
