G.I. Georgie

by Jason Kirk Bartley

G.I. Georgie lines up his little green army men,
As he commands the infantry to move on in.
In this army, he’s a six-star general just like Ulysses S. Grant.
Even though he’s commanding an army the size of ants.
He has some crawlers and snipers staged all around.
Air strikes are scheduled, as well as attacks on the ground.
His brother is his opponent as he keeps trying to advance.
But G.I. Georgie’s little tanks do not give him a fighting chance.
His brother is the acting general on the other side of the war.
His brother becomes unhappy and decides to settle the score.
But Grandma says, “Dinner is ready! Come on in.”
They leave their army men in the yard in formation,
So they can fight them again and again.
