Forest Fame

by Paul Kaddis (age 14)

Rushing water
Falling leaves
Millions of
Honey Bees
Within the ground
Roots and bugs
Slimy gooey gray slugs
Towering trees
Pollen that’ll make you sneeze
Sunshine creeping in through branches
Casting sunray glances
Moonlight reflects off a beautiful lake
But dark enough not to wake
The scurrying animals who twist and shake
If you’re lucky you can find a fruit or two
Better yet
Berries of all shades, red and blue
Millions of adventures kept within
Of all of those who have been
A safe spot for some
Who feel glum
Or just a place to explore
Everything on the floor
A forest is home to many
In different ways, it’s plenty
What’s a forest to you
An area of boring things
Or something that brings a pleasant ring
