Christmas

by Polina Moys

The night before Christmas Eve
I had a lovely dream,
That baby Jesus had arrived
And made the nations beam!

As Jesus grew to be a man,
His parents prayed for him,
He helped the people, saved the world,
Delivered us from sin!

I woke, but that charming dream
Still lingered in my heart.
The thought of it elated me
And filled me with delight!

The Christmas beauty, shining lights,
Oh, how I love this time!
And Mass at church, and gifts, and songs,
Peace, joy in their prime.

God’s love and kindness lift me up
Wherever I may be,
For I am sure that my Lord,
My Jesus is with me!
