A Smile’s Wealth
by Catherine Cruz (age 16)
This feeling holds the vivid touch of life,
That soaked into the soul, and made worthwhile,
The sufferings locked away and then brought out,
Released whenever you show me your smile.
A smile that makes you think of home-bound love,
Familiarity, the joyful sigh,
Sunk down with verse and sweetened thoughts,
One flash that gave me all the world and sky.
